Presentation Kit
This Healthy Homes, Healthier Lives Presentation Kit has been designed for use in short, informal awareness raising/briefing sessions with partner organisations, colleagues, volunteers and community-based agencies.
The aims of the Presentation Kit are to increase knowledge of:
- the effects of poor housing on people's health
- the actions householders can take to improve their housing conditions
- who can help to improve people's housing conditions and local agencies that are there to help
It is the ideal medium for raising awareness about local projects and initiatives that link housing to poor health.
The Presentation Kit contains a Power Point presentation, quiz, a case study exercise and information pages that cover the following topics:
- home repairs and improvements
- adaptations and living independently
- home safety and accident prevention particularly with regard to falls
- energy efficiency
- home security
- move on: alternative housing options for older people
- starter kit for local directory of resources
The Presentation Kit is in three sections:
