The Course

The components of the course are in five sections.

Click on Trainers Notes for the notes that accompany the full Powerpoint presentation

Click on Presentation to download all of the Powerpoint slides. Once downloaded you can shorten or amend the presentation to suit your needs. Remember that once you have deleted/ added slides the numbering will not correspond with the slide numbers in the trainer's notes.

During the course we suggest that you divide the delegates into groups, to answer a quiz (see Trainer’s Notes Slides 16 – 32)

Click on Quiz to download both the quiz and its answers.

We also suggest that you divide the delegates into groups, to carry out an exercise that identifies examples of poor housing conditions and the health hazards they pose (see Trainers Notes Slides 34- 44). Click on Photograph Exercise (4606KB) for the illustrations. It is a good idea to laminate them.

The Presentation and Photographs are also available on CD for which there is a small charge to cover our costs (currently £10.00). To order a CD contact info@careandrepair-england.org.uk

Click on Answers for the suggested answers to the photograph exercise and Descriptions for a more detailed background information about the photographs.

If you have time at the end of the session, we suggest that you split the delegates into groups to look at a Case Study. This helps to consolidate the work you have done during the session and raise further questions and discussion. If you do not have time for full feedback, hand out the model answer for delegates to look at in their own time. Click on Case Study Exercise for the materials you need to run this session.
